How Do You Know if Someone is "The One"
Most of us will experience love and/or being in a committed relationship at some point in our lives. Some people are lucky enough to meet their life partner when they are in high school, while others may marry and divorce before meeting a new person that they consider to be the one true love of their life. Choosing a life partner is not an easy feat but do you really even "choose" the person you want to be with forever? Or do they show up at the divine right time? The answer is different for everyone but I do believe that you can manifest your life partner. Whether or not that person is a soul mate or twin flame is another story. Let me break soul mates and twin flames down for you.
What is a soul mate?
Your toughest life lessons may come from a soul mate.
The term soul mate is pretty main stream and according to the google it is “a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.” But this is a very vague description of a soul mate. Yes, a soul mate can be someone other than a romantic partner. It can be your best friend, a sibling or even a pet. If you believe in past lives, you and another soul were connected in a past life or lives and made a soul agreement to meet in your current life. There is a familiarity shared between soul mates like they have known each other for a long time, have an unbreakable bond and can understand each other, even without verbal communication. Soul mates learn lessons from each other along their journey together to help each other grow and it’s not always an easy process. In fact, some of your toughest life lessons may come from a soul mate.
What is a twin flame?
The other half of yourself
Simply put, Twin Flames are two people who make up a whole and share a purpose and destiny across many lifetimes. This sounds similar to a soul mate but a twin flame is a romantic partner who literally feels like your other half, like you share a soul. If soul mates are a master’s degree, twin flames are a PHD, next level. Like a soul mate, a twin flame teaches you lessons but the lessons are tied to similarities and flaws that you share with your twin flame because they are a mirror image of you. A twin flame relationship is rare and the most intense relationship one can experience. It takes a certain level of spiritual maturity to be able to meet your twin flame. Many people may attract one or several soul mates but may not come across their twin flame (and you only have one) in this lifetime. If you are lucky enough to meet your twin flame, you will know. It will be an intense connection and a feeling that you have found the other half of yourself. This person will complement you and shine a spotlight on all of your good and bad qualities. Sounds magical doesn’t it?
How do I know if my soul mate or twin flame is my life partner?
I like to compare soul mates and twin flames to your life purpose. Everyone has a life purpose but your life purpose is not necessarily your job or how you support yourself financially. Everyone has soul mates and a twin flame but this does not mean that you will stay committed to them forever. Since soul mates teach us soul lessons, you can very well be in a romantic relationship with one and things not work out between you two. Maybe you have low self-esteem and your soul mate was put in your life to teach you about self-worth. The same applies to a twin flame. You may have the most intense connection with a twin flame but what if they are already married with children? Your lesson may be to learn to love someone unconditionally. The universe wants you to be content with knowing that your connection is literally out of this world and you shouldn't worry about being with the person now because you will always be one.
But what if your soul mate or twin flame is supposed to be your life partner in this lifetime? Here are some signs:
You both feel like “complete” people. You know who you are, what your life purpose is and you are spiritually mature.
You don’t feel that you need the other to survive. Your life purposes are connected You two are instrumental in helping each other achieve and fulfill each other’s life purpose. For example, I met two mediums whose gifts didn’t fully mature until they started working together. Timing works in your favor
What is meant to be will be so you should not have to force a relationship with a soul mate or twin flame. If it seems that you two are never on the same page and can’t make a relationship work for the both of you, it’s probably not meant to be. Don’t try to fit a square peg into a round hole. This is not to say that there won’t be any challenges in a soul mate or twin flame relationship, there will be plenty. But there will be a certain ease to your relationship where you both know that you will be able to work through all the challenges that show up in your lives.
